Tyson Foods Summer Community Internship Kickoff!

Yesterday, Illinois Campus Compact (ILCC) kicked off our Tyson Foods Summer Community Internship Program. This internship program is a partnership between Campus Compact and Tyson Foods to provide an invaluable opportunity for select college students to gain professional experience while making a positive impact in the community.

This program provides 40 nonprofit organizations in the Chicago area, and Sioux City, Storm Lake, and Council Bluffs, Iowa with a grant of $3,000-3,500 to hire a qualified college student for the summer.

These positions offer experience in volunteer supervision, marketing, finance, fundraising, nonprofit development, and numerous other fields.

During the kick-off event we learned that the new Tyson Foods Interns come from colleges and universities not only throughout Illinois, but also several out of state schools. They bring a plethora of different majors, expertise, and interests together with the common goal of making a positive impact on the community they work with.
