Martin Luther King Day Service Opportunities

Some of Campus Compact Illinois’ member institutions will be holding days of service on Martin Luther King Day. Below you can see all the opportunities to serve and events honoring the day throughout Illinois. The University of Illinois Springfield is holding a food distribution service project named Feed the Funnel. Participants will help pack healthy meals for local non-profits. Tyson Foods 2019 Summer Community Internship Program

  Over this past summer, Campus Compact Illinois gathered our Tyson Foods Summer Community interns and their supervisors to recap on their summers and all the work they accomplished. At the closing event, each of the interns explained their main duties and told us a little bit about what they learned from their site. ILCC Service Corps

Illinois Campus Compact is beginning an AmeriCorps State Program. This program is for college students at ILCC member institutions who are passionate and committed to service. Selected students have one year to service at least 300 hours building capacity for campus and community partnerships . Once these hours are completed the student will receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. If the student completes 300 volunteer hours they will receive a $1,252.91 education award. If the student completes 450 volunteer hours they will receive a $1,566.14 education award. This program rewards students for being civically engaged and giving back to their community….

Tyson Foods Summer Community Internship Kickoff!

Yesterday, Illinois Campus Compact (ILCC) kicked off our Tyson Foods Summer Community Internship Program. This internship program is a partnership between Campus Compact and Tyson Foods to provide an invaluable opportunity for select college students to gain professional experience while making a positive impact in the community. Illinois Campus Compact (ILCC) is looking for a full time Assistant Director.  This position will work closely with our AmeriCorps VISTA program, ILCC member programming, and provide administrative support for the organization. The Assistant Director provides leadership in the development and implementation of programs, events, and member services as well as monitors progress toward the organization’s mission and strategic objectives.
